The Mann-Grandstaff VA Hospital is actively seeking board certified or board eligible Physicians in Family or Internal Medicine.
Youwill join a team providing compassionate General Internal Medicine healthcare which may include the Women's Health Clinic (WHC). The panel of patients will include both male and female veterans with acute and chronic illnesses. You willalso be a participant in implementing/sustaining the VA Patient Centered Medical Home Model called Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT).
For full-time positions - these are salaried positions with panel sizes at 1200. Some positions may be filled as "float" positions.
For part-time positions - specific duties will depend on the position / hours and needs.
There is no on-call involved.

This announcement will be used to fill a variety of primary care positions. The specific position being filled at a given time would be discussed in the interview and/or job offer phase.
Work Schedule:Full-time - Normally -Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Compressed tours may be available consisting of 4-10 hour shifts from 7:30am - 6:00pm. In rare cases additional hours may be required.
Part-time - hours will typicallybe worked Monday thru Fridaybetween 8:00am - 4:30 p.m. - depending on the facility needs. This would be discussed during interviews as vacancies occur.
Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Physicians must have completed residency training or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA Physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or (2) Other residencies or their equivalents which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience: Board certified in Internal Medicine / Family Practice; Women's health experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:?, A pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates.
