VARIS LLC is seeking a Software Engineer to help maintain, improve and support our existing and next generation of IT Service Management products. The candidate shall work with the existing team to improve and support custom applications and assist with future enhancements. Candidate will analyze requirements, define architecture and provide technical support. He or she will need to work closely with the rest of the team to support existing systems as well as assist with bug fixes and enhancements.
The Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer will be responsible for:
User workflow and usability concepts
SQL Server programming: thorough knowledge of both DDL and DML
Microsoft.NET Windows Forms
Proficient in C#.NET 3.5 through 4.6
Proficient in using .NET Libraries
LINQ, LINQ to SQL, and LINQ to Entities
Designing, writing and deploying .NET GUI applications that use Web Services and DAL using LINQ to SQL
Design and Develop business test cases and conduct unit and system testing
Design and development of n-tier applications in a multi-threaded environment
Work collaboratively with users and technical staff to design streamlined and efficient user interfaces
Participate in concept development & design, design prototypes and implementation of visual designs
Develop robust, efficient, high-quality user interfaces that interact with end users in high availability environments, using Microsoft C#.NET, Win Forms
Productively integrate with an existing Agile development team
Significant experience with MS SQL Server 2008 through SQL Server 2014
Carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor reflected in excellent written and oral communication skills, listening skills, patience, analytical reasoning and problem solving abilities.
Ability to meet timelines, milestones, deliverables, and provide timely (daily) status updates.
Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users.
Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross-training and functional documentation.
Follow established processes and procedures including Change Management, Work Tracking and Time Management.
Keep abreast of technology advances, upgrades and patches.
Analyze, test, and apply changes to the application environment under the prevailing change management procedures and requirements.
5+ years of experience in software development using C# and Microsoft Technologies
Experience with .NET architecture and fundamentals
Excellent knowledge of C#
Team Foundation Server experience
Expert understanding of scalability and performance concerns
Strong SQL Server programming skills, including
writing functions and stored procedures, and defining tables
using transactions effectively
creating and modifying SSIS packages
Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 and higher
Significant experience with LINQ2SQL, ADO.NET
Experience with WinForms, Windows Services, WCF and web services
Proactive communication and good interpersonal skills, must be extremely fluent in English
