Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for clinical oversight of the organization. The CMO develops, implements and manages strategic objectives as they pertain to policies, clinical best practices and workflows ensuring the highest quality of care and in accordance with the overall strategic goals and objectives of SCC. The CMO ensures all clinical practice is conducted in accordance with established government and industry regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine from an accredited institution and Board Certification in discipline required.
Eligible to obtain NM Medical license, NM State Pharmacy license, DEA Registration
Advanced business training such as an MBA or MHA is desirable.
10 years as a practicing physician, of which five years has been spent in increasingly responsible healthcare leadership and/or management roles.
Prior leadership experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or FQHC look-alike, and a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) designated facility highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in developing/promoting evidence-based care through the use of technology
Ability to think strategically, to foster change, to innovate and implement strategies across an organization.
Ability to work in a professional team of medical and administrative professionals with a collaborative approach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain and build trust; protect and preserve confidential information along with high attention to detail.
Demonstrates exceptional organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills.

A community health primary care practice, Southwest CARE Center operates 3 clinics in Santa Fe and 1 clinic in Albuquerque New Mexico. SCC provides internal medicine, family medicine, infectious disease (HIV and HCV), Pediatrics Women's Health care. We also operate 2 Pharmacy's and a very active Research Division.
