UMass Memorial Medical Group (UMMMG) is one of the largest, integrated multispecialty group medical practices on the East Coast, with more than 1,100 members, both primary care and specialty physicians and an additional 1,100 employees, which support UMMMG’s 3M patient encounters a year. UMMMG provides care on 3 Worcester campuses of UMass Memorial Medical Center plus practice sites in 22 communities throughout Central Massachusetts. The 1,100 physicians of UMMG are faculty members of the UMass Medical School. The President is a physician executive who provides operational leadership to ensure that UMMMG remains an exemplary and profitable multi-specialty faculty practice that delivers a superior patient care experience characterized by premier university level care, easily accessed at a reasonable cost and delivered with consistently high customer service.
Reporting to the CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care the President exercises the powers specified in the bylaws of the Medical Group and granted to him/her by the CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care. The President is responsible for the daily management of the Medical Group, its clinical operations, its administrative services and its financial performance
The President’s major responsibilities include the development, execution and evaluation of the Medical Group’s component of the Health System's strategic plan within the framework of the joint strategic plan of the Health System and Medical School. This planning effort requires close collaboration with executives of the Health System; the Medical School Dean; Department Chairs; and Hospital Presidents.

M.D./D.O. and Board Certification is required.
MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent business degree is desirable.
Eligibility to be qualified for an academic appointment.
Possession of or eligibility for a medical license in the State of Massachusetts.
Ten + years as a licensed practicing clinician in good standing on a medical staff.
Five years of experience with demonstrated accomplishments in medical administration services in a major teaching hospital environment, including experiences as a Department Chair or Vice Chair.
Have demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans and directing operations of professional staff; with a high ability to lead advocacy efforts including policy initiatives.
A proven track record in leading a multi-specialty medical group to a strong and consistent financial, quality, safety, and satisfaction (physician, staff, patient) performance in a competitive marketplace.
Have a history of successful administrative leadership experience in academic setting as well as the political acumen to navigate a complex academic structure.
