Lancaster General Health is currently seeking a Director, Revenue Cycle for its Lancaster General Medical Group. The Director, Revenue Cycle is responsible for overall Patient Billing Services operations, at both the Central Billing Office (CBO) level and at the individual practice level. CBO office staff report to the Director, Revenue Cycle either directly or through a Manager. This position demonstrates initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills to achieve Patient Billing Services goals. Responsible for day-to-day operations, associated with all physician practices, for all processes associated with Physician Billing Services.
Coordinates all aspects of the revenue cycle for physician billing performed by PBS, including charge capture, registration, co-pay collection, charge posting, denial management, coding, billing, and receivables management.
Oversees processes involved with Denial Management and performs monthly analysis to identify trends and training needs. Coordinates the training and/or feedback to initiate process improvement and decrease denial % rates.
Establishes and maintains a system of compliance with federal and state documentation and billing requirements. Implements systems to insure such compliance is maintained.
Develops standardized PBS systems and processes to support smooth practice operation and high levels of customer service across the Organization.
Produces detailed monthly “dashboard” reports for each entity, indicating patient volumes, charges, cash, A/R balances, etc, in order to manage the processes and people involved with providing consistent, predictable AR performance.
Meets with physicians and Frontend Revenue Cycle Manager, on a regular basis to discuss the contents of the monthly reports.
Facilitates the 3rd party payor credentialing process for physicians whose practices are managed by PBS
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience required.
5 years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in medical practice billing, preferrably in an environment that spans multiple practices and specialties.
Extensive experience with billing software.
Basic knowledge of and experience with Electronic Medical Records systems.
Demonstrated personnel management skills, with emphasis on management, training and development of entry level and established staff.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Certification equivalency by MGMA and/or coding certification preferred.
Knowledge/experience utilizing the Epic software system preferred.
Previous experience working with budgets and financial analysis preferred.
