The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides treatment to a wide variety of Pediatric / NICU patients and works closely with the pediatric team.
Our therapists work in both inpatient and outpatient setting clinics in excellent facilities, treating a variety of patient diagnoses. Individuals may be assigned permanently, temporarily or simultaneously to other worksites where modified job descriptions exist. The SLP may provide weekend and evening services to patients as needed.
As the Speech Language Pathologist at Asante you will have the opportunity to:
Mentor and instruct students or less experienced staff members.
Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Master's degree from a SLP program or equivalent.
Ability to adhere to and maintain expertise regarding federal and state regulations, and specific carrier requirements.
2 years of pediatric experience, including NICU and feeding.
Knowledge of infant development, preterm and term.
Knowledge of developmental and neurological communication and feeding disorders; Modified Barium Swallow Study / Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (MBSS / VFSS) experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA)
Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) by American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licensed by the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology
Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance may be required
Ability to process information, ability to problem-solve individually and within a team setting.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks appropriately, and manage time well.
An effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with patients, families, coworkers, physicians, and community members.
