Providence is calling a Lead AR Billing Resolution Specialist to Providence Seward Medical Center in Seward, Alaska.
We are seeking a Lead AR Billing Resolution Specialist to perform in a working team leader role providing department support to the Business Services Department. Develop and implement competencies for use in training and maintaining compliance, quality control and consistency in the use of scheduling and billing applications. Design and perform training sessions on process and procedure for scheduling, registration and billing systems utilized at PSMCC. May recommend process and procedure improvements or changes and assist management with their design and implementation. Assist supervisor with allocation of staff in order to ensure adequate coverage for the billing and scheduling, in supervisor absence.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate professional skills in working with departmental staff, hospital departments, physicians, physician's office staff, government agency and insurance company representatives, patients, consultants and co-workers.
Assist the supervisor with allocation of staff during periods of supervisor absence.
Develop and implement competencies for use in training and maintaining compliance, quality control and consistency in the use of scheduling and billing applications.
Ensure all billing documentation required by payers, including but not limited to CPT-4, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding, prior authorization, provider identifications, primary and secondary insurance, patient demographics, insured identification, charges and dates of service are complete and correct.
Perform follow-up with patients and third party payers to ensure timely and accurate resolution of accounts within departmental guidelines and government program regulations.
Demonstrate working knowledge of registration, billing, retrieval, electronic data interchange and online systems, i.e., Registration and Billing Software, Tri-Care/Champus, Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans Administration and Imaging Systems.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school graduation or equivalent.
Three years minimum medical accounts receivable experience, including coding and billing.
Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of CPT-4, HCPCS and ICD 9 coding
Experience with online Registration and Billing Software
