Providence is calling a Patient Safety Consultant to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for the implementation of the internal Patient Safety program of improved quality outcomes and improved control of loss prevention according to the guidelines of federal, state and regional legal requirements
Improve quality outcomes and improved control of loss prevention, complying with all existing Washington Statues, Rules of the Department of Insurance and any other appropriate guidelines relating to medical malpractice, the Healthcare industry and civil law.
Receive referrals and intervene with patient and/or family to resolve a grievance vs. Hospital and/or personnel in order to eliminate or diminish potential liability claim.
Present educational material to all employees upon orientation, at yearly educational updates, and additionally requested in order to satisfy continuing education requirements related to quality, risk, accreditation, and patient safety.
Provide consultation, facilitation, and skill development such as systems thinking and total quality management tools to lead and support the organizational initiatives and "best practices" for Northwest Washington Service Area.
Ensure confidential information and conversations are secured from general public access.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor Degree BSN; Insurance, Risk Management, Law, Business or related field and/or Healthcare Administration
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience, which should include a basic background in medical terminology and physiology, as well as experience with acute care medical facilities.
