The incumbent will serve as the Registered Nurse Coordinator in the Spinal Cord Injury Patient Care Center and works collaboratively with the Core Team (Patient, Physician Neuropsychologist, Wound Care Nurse, Social Worker, Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist, Respiratory Therapist, Recreational Therapist and Speech Language Pathologist) and Expanded Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services involved in providing care to the patient) in developing and providing patient-driven holistic care for life. The incumbent is responsible for the lateral integration of patient care, i.e., assessing patient needs and accessing expertise across healthcare discipline. As a change agent, promotes an environment that embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvement. Fundamental aspects of the Nursing role include: leadership in the care of patient, standardization of care; identification, delegation and oversight of care delivery and outcomes. Additionally the Nurse refines data system to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
MSN Degree in Nursing or Post-Graduate Clinical Management Program with didactic and supervised preceptorship by the Board Certified Clinical Nurse Leader.
Certification from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN)
