Responsible for maintaining the American College of Surgeons' accreditation of the cancer program; maintaining the integrity of the cancer registry, coordinating weekly cancer conferences, quality control of cancer registry data, preparing patient care evaluation studies and outcomes, publishing the cancer program annual report, assisting the Cancer Registry Abstractors as needed; performing leadership and supervisory duties over the Cancer Registry Department, and performing other duties as required.
BS in Health Information Management; or Associate of Science in Health Information Technology, or BS degree in Biology or other health care field
successful completion of the Certified Tumor Registrar exam
Training in medical terminology; anatomy and physiology preferred.
Hospital cancer registry experience preferred; State cancer registry experience acceptable.
CTR required; RRA or ART preferred; equivalent degree considered.
Basic computer knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
