First Home Care currently has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Medical Billing Office Representative to work with our Business Office in the Portsmouth, VA.Â (coding experience/certification is NOT required for this position)
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
Complete billing and collections functions of third party payers of assigned community base programs.
Ensure billing productivity standards.
Follow-up on outstanding balances.
Maintains the accuracy of assigned accounts daily.
Completes daily, monthly and quarterly reports.
Monitors census daily upon receipt from all programs; document in client history details of rates, LOC and customized care, as appropriate.
Verifies accuracy of ancillary charges at admission, discharge and transfers/level changes; notifying/inquiring w/program staff as appropriate.
Makes necessary corrections to all medic accounts within 2 (two) business days of census occurrence where applicable.
Ensures that all data entry including cash, charge corrections, adjustments are completed by close of business daily and accurately to accounts, as required.
Verifies insurance eligibility monthly and at the time of admission, as required, if applicable documented relevant confirmation numbers, contact information and source in the clientâ€™s history communicating relevant issues to program staff, alternate funding source and management, as appropriate.
Prepares and submits billed amounts by funding source to management monthly.
