University Behavioral Center is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for a per diem position in our Admissions Department workingÂ the night shiftÂ .Â We are seeking an individual with previous Psychiatric intake experience, ability to work in an effectively rapid paced environment, answer phone calls, obtaining insurance authorizations, completing physician orders for admissions, review potential admissions from medical referral sources, and process admissions. Candidate must have thorough knowledge of Florida Baker Act protocols.
Efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls
Knowledge of and communication with referral sources
Providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals
Assessing and triaging an individualâ€™s mental health status
Making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the physician
Identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care
Completing all admission required paperwork
Communicating patient safety and medical concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff
Documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4
