JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Performance Improvement Coordinator is an integral member of the Hospital Quality Department leading, mentoring and educating staff on clinical performance improvement initiatives. Leads the organization in clinical improvement initiatives by using evidenced based practice and performance improvement methods and tools.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Proficient in computer applications such as CPOE, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and standard office equipment. Adept in using project management and performance improvement tools. Demonstrated knowledge in statistical process control to interpret and communicate data. Adept at using data bases to mine and organize data to focus disease specific improvements and outcomes. Knowledgeable of outside regulatory disease specific standards and disease specific core measures and abstraction rules and instructs others. Proficient in implementation of disease specific evidenced based practice.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in health care field of expertise, health care administration or business preferred. Previous clinical experience preferably in an acute care hospital setting (RN, MD, CRNP, PA) for 3 or more years. Current licensure in one of the above clinical areas. Two or more years of mid-level or higher management /leadership experience. Eligible for or certified in quality, (CPHQ) Preferred Training or experience in performance improvement/quality techniques/CQI. Successful track record of leading teams and goal attainment. Knowledgeable of outside regulatory requirements and the links to quality initiatives.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment Independent travel to sites through the system and surrounding communities is required.
