The Georgia Business Center is a centralized business office facility performing billing and collection services for five affiliated Universal Health Services (UHS) hospitals. Our new offices are located in Dunwoody and as a result of continued growth, we are searching for an experienced CBO Specialist to assist the Director in daily management of the Business Office.
What Role Will You Play?
The CBO Specialist for the Georgia Business Center assists with the day to day billing and collection functions provided by the CBO to include process improvement initiatives in collaboration with supported facilities and providing backup support during periods of vacancies. This position reports to the Director of the Business Office.
What Will You Get To Do?
The CBO Specialist is responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
Assist the Director in daily management of Accounts Receivable billing and collections.
Assist the Director to monitor work flow and account assignments to ensure billing, collection and account follow up occurs timely and within company established guidelines.
Monitors and analyzes reports daily for the operational success of the business office. Specifically identifying opportunities for process improvement and/or re-education of both CBO and facility based staff on established process and procedures.
Evaluates registration, insurance verification and cash posting to determine the integrity of data input.
Demonstrates strong of understanding all third party payer contracts including governmental agencies.
Completes reporting to management, as required.
Supports the CBO objective of consistently achieving cash collection goal as defined by the organization.
Works collaboratively with the individual CFO's to improve processes and ensure active and meaningful communication.
Participates in staff meetings at regular intervals for informative and educational purposes.
Provides timely guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem.
Assist with new hire orientation/training as well as ongoing employee in-service/refresher trainings.
What Does The Georgia Business Center Require for this Role?
In order to be successful in this role, a minimum of five years' supervisory experience in accounts receivable and business office functions is preferred, including experience with insurance companies and a working knowledge of insurance terms, rates, policies and reimbursement procedures preferred. Previous work in a hospital business office or UR experience preferred.
Must demonstrate understanding of patient accounting principles in managing large volume, accounts receivable in a health care related field.
