This position will be responsible for leading the overall optimization and implementation of the Banner-University Divisions faculty practice compensation program operations, faculty practice recruitment process, graduate medical education strategy, and supports clinical research compliance and deployment. Work with regional CEOs, Physician Executives and others as appropriate in Tucson and Phoenix markets to build strategy that assures execution and compliance with the faculty compensation plan.Works closely with Chairs, Chiefs, Physician Executives to provide support and strategy relating to faculty recruitment, retention, credentialing annual evaluations, and effort reporting. Leads and optimizes the faculty recruitment process for the Division in collaboration with system office leadership. Services as the lead representative for the Division in developing and execution of a GME strategy that aligns with a collective vision of key stakeholders. In collaboration with Banner Research, represent the Academic Division in productive engagement with the University of Arizona on the development of, execution of research policies and practices. Interface, facilitate and coordinate activities with system office human resources, legal and strategy divisions to develop strategy that supports the above functions.
Directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of direct staff and matrixed employees.
Participates in the development of the department budget to meet corporate goals and objectives. Meets annual budgetary goals. Translates organizational plans, goals, and initiatives into assumptions for annual operating and/or capital budgets. Negotiates contracts with external vendors for products and/or services and monitors/evaluates quality and/or performance.
Directs and participates in the development, implementation, and consistent application of effective organizational policies, procedures, and practices. Develops and supports internal controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded, policies and operating procedures are followed, necessary controls are effective and efficient, and compliance with current laws and regulations is achieved.
Reviews, prepares, analyzes, and presents reports and recommendations to senior leadership regarding operations, programs, services, and/or other applicable areas of interest in order to provide concise and accurate information that aids in decision-making.
Must possess a strong knowledge of business and/or healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelors degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.
Depending upon assigned area of responsibility, position may require applicable certifications and/or licensures, including but not limited to: RN; MD or DO; Drivers License; Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA); Certified Protection Professional (CPP); Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); Associate in Risk Management (ARM); CPA; SPHR; Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA); Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT); Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM); Certified Facility Manager (CFM); Certified Coding Specialist (CCS); Certified Professional Coder (CPC); JD from an American Bar Association accredited school; admission to a State Bar Association.
Must possess a strong background and understanding in healthcare as typically achieved with 10 years of progressively advanced financial and administrative leadership experiences with at least 5 years in an Academic Medical Center. Considerable and progressive administrative and operational experience in healthcare is necessary in the areas of faculty compensation, graduate medical education and clinical research administration.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
