The Per Diem/Casual Audiologist provides discipline specific patient examination, evaluation, intervention, documentation, parent/caregiver education, communication and coordination of care with medical/clinical staff and outside agencies as appropriate within the discipline specific scope of practice and the guidelines designated by the department and the Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults;
Able to provide audiologic services in accordance with discipline specific scope of practice to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
Attends meetings related to patient diagnostic evaluation , treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member as appropriate.
Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend and dispense durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and etc.
Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to department.
Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree is the entry-level degree to obtain a new license to practice Audiology.
Individuals with a Master's Degree will be considered if existing DE license is held (must be eligible for DE Audiology License even if position is to provide coverage in another state)
Delaware/New Jersey/Pennsylvania State license (permanent or temporary; as appropriate for location(s) to practice Audiology as appropriate. All staff must maintain active DE licensure regardless of assignment, program or location.
BLS certification Basic Life Support (within 6 months of date of hire) and must be maintained for duration of employment.
Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, AAA) preferred
Clinical affiliation in which pediatrics has been practiced is preferred
