GeneralSummary: A non-exempt medical office position responsible for coordinatingand managing all processes of the front office

Greetingpatients entering the physician practice.
Answering officephones, making appointments.
Checks inpatients and collects accurate patient demographics, enters data intoelectronic system and verifies insurance.
Assists inchecking out patients and assists them with referral processing and schedulingprocess
Collectsco-pays and posts charges.
Managingphysician surgical schedule as well as other business related appointments andother basic office related tasks.
Coordinatesthe daily operations of the physician office, including the medical recordsprocess, patient and physician scheduling, controlling thefront desk, accounts payable, confirming appointments, office supplies andinsurance verification.
Chargeentry and patient balance processing.
Monitor andaudit cash/payment funds.
Dailyreconciliation of charges and payments.
Additionalresponsibilities as needed.
Education: High schooldiploma/GED required with completion medical office assistant program preferred.
Experience:Musthave a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a medical office setting.
Knowledge of insurance verification process
Understanding of documentation required for physician appointments.
Knowledge of Electronic Health Systems
Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD â 10 and CPT codes
Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to provide effective patient care.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid policies and regulations and incentive programs.
