Interface Engineer L3- Clinical Systems Job ID (60197)
Position Summary: The Interface Engineer L3- Clinical Systems will administer, maintain, and provide ongoing support for Healthcare interfaces between Shands systems which use standard interface engines.
Interface Engine software installation, monitoring, configuration, upgrades, and patching
Gathering interface statistics for performance monitoring
Testing of backup and recovery procedures scripting
Problem identification and resolution; and documentation
Research, analyze and recommend standards, procedures, and new technologies to improve interface engine reliability, performance, and recovery.
Develop and present written proposals for changes to existing standards, processes, and technologies.
Assess project proposals for compliance with interface standards, risk, implementation and ongoing support requirements, and ability to meet proposed timelines.
Collaborate with project owners to make necessary changes and document outstanding risks.
Organize and lead cross-departmental project teams.
This position will be required to access confidential data in order to perform job responsibilities.
On-call support responsibilities are required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in computer science or another applicable area of study and five (5) years of relevant work experience is required; however an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
Examples of relevant work experience include healthcare experience, project management, programming/coding, and system implementation coordination.
Five years of programming experience in interfacing data between systems including the use of HL7, XML and other interface protocols, interface mapping, communications and networking protocols preferred.
Hands-on experience with the following products is desired: Mirth Interface Engine, Epic Bridges integration, Epic Interconnect integration,, Oracle, SQL, JCL, PL/SQL, SQL*Plus, Operating Systems (such as z/OS, AIX, and Windows). Familiarity with the following products is considered a plus: Microsoft Office, Oracle Application Express, Perl and SAS.
Must have demonstrated leadership in the development of standards, processes, or the recommendation of new technologies to improve interface engine reliability, performance, or recoverability.
Experience leading project teams is required.
Must have demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve corporate objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Will consider Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 commensurate upon experience.
