Responsible for providing advanced administrative support to Geisinger National Precision Health, based in Washington DC area. Ensures advanced administrative activities provide efficiency and organization to the unit.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide advanced research performance in general support of quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under the general supervision of Director, Geisinger National and the Director, Strategic Operations and National Initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collects, composes, types and distributes forms, lists, memos, routine and confidential correspondence as requested.
*Schedules internal meetings, meeting rooms, equipment, catering as requested; Assembles necessary background materials as requested; Participates in Geisinger National meetings, prepares agendas and handouts for unit or preparation for Board or other meetings.
*Screens, handles and/or directs all telephone calls to the Director and provides daily coverage taking clear, accurate messages and conveying a professional attitude to callers.
*Relies on experience and judgment to independently plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
*Coordinates work projects, edits correspondence, researches information and prepares complex reports on significant matter for executive level review.
*Uses independent judgment to carry out succession steps and handle problems and deviations in accordance with precedent and interpretation of resource information, including policies and regulations.
*Accurately and effectively manages Geisinger National Precision Health Leadership and staff travel arrangements. Completes reconciliations in accurate and timely manner. Assists Geisinger National Precision Health leadership with expense reimbursement which includes support for completing paperwork for purchase charges (occasional misc. support for other Geisinger National Precision Health team members may be required).
*Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment.
*Professionally represents the Geisinger National Precision Health to internal/external visitors and maintains effective relationships with senior leadership, management, staff and customers. Greets all visitors and assists/directs them as appropriate.
*Prepares confidential administrative correspondence and reports to top level executives.
*Handles complex and sensitive operational issues and provides conflict resolution.
*Performs other duties as required or assigned by emergency or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION-Ability to carry out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of local and remote teams.
INDEPENDENT WORK-Demonstrates ability to work independently or with limited supervision as part of the Geisinger National team.
TIME MANAGEMENT-Time management refers to a range of skills, tools, and techniques used to manage time when accomplishing specific tasks, projects and goals. This set encompass a wide scope of activities, and these include planning, allocating, setting goals, delegation, analysis of time spent, monitoring, organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing.
ADVANCED COMPUTER SKILLS-Working Knowledge including but not limited to the following: Microsoft Operating System and Network Operating System (NOS), Novell Netware, Unix Operating System, Citrix, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree required. 5 year administrative experience required. Experience may be in lieu of a degree. Advanced or Complex office experience required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Work involves lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally or often.
