7pm to 7:30am Night Shift Opportunity for an Non-Registered Polysomnographer! Work three nights a week! Excellent Pay, Flexible scheduling!
The Non-Registered Polysomnographer, works independently during the night and conducts overnight polysomnographic testing. The PSGT safely operates sophisticated medical equipment used to record sleep/wake physiology, explains procedures, prepares patients and applies recording devices. Key responsibilities include monitoring polygraph recordings and audio/visual equipment to ensure patient safety, test quality, sleep/wake data and other physiological events.
Performs basic and complex polysomnographic procedures, such as baseline polysomnography, nasal CPAP/Bi-PAP titration and multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and ASV as defined in department policy and procedure.
Implements therapeutic procedures such as nasal CPAP and supplemental oxygen administration, and works with patients to ensure CPAP compliance.
Applies electrodes and recording devices as defined in departmental policy and procedures and ensure artifact-free recording.
Completes procedural and computer documentation as outlined in departmental policy/procedure and obtains/records an appropriate patient history.
Prepares entire test for physician interpretation, including stage scoring using Rechtschaffen & Kales criteria and pathology scoring standard guidelines as defined in department policy and procedure.
Prepares workplace for next night’s studies by cleaning/sterilizing equipment, maintaining equipment in a professional manner, storing/cleaning properly, and making up beds with clean linens.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education: Requires a high school diploma, or equivalent.
Experience: Requires one (1) year of experience as a Polysomongraphic technologist.
Certification: Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Position Qualifications:
Education: A.A. Degree in Polysomnography
Experience: Two (2) plus years plus, prior experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
Other: Membership in Association of Polysomnographic Technologist (APT) or American Academy of :Sleep Medicine (AASM)
