In this very special role, you will coordinator clinical trials and related studies for Pre-Hospital Administration of Stroke Therapy – Trans Sodium Crocetinate (PHAST-TSC). This involves facilitating study performance at up to 100 ambulance stations and up to 25 receiving hospital stroke centers in Los Angeles County. Among your responsibilities, you will:
Train paramedics and site nurses/physicians regarding study protocol Schedule and perform patient follow-up visits Abstract data from medical records Assist study investigators with IRB, FDA, and other regulatory paperwork Oversee study clinical operations Maintain participant study charts and respond to data queries Supervise storing-dispensing-recording of PHAST-TSC treatment agents Be on call 1 in 4 evenings (until 10 PM) to respond to Trial patient enrollments by phone and be on call 1 in 4 weekends to perform Trial patient assessments at catchment area hospitals.
QualificationsWe’re seeking a self-directed nursing professional with: BSN/MSN BLS certification NIH Stroke Scale certification At least two years of experience caring for neuro or stroke patients Experience working with pre-hospital care agencies Ability to teach stroke study protocol Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills Experience in research coordination of clinical trials Skill in preparing adverse event reports, and regulatory paperwork Ability to extract data and document medical events with high fidelity Computer proficiency with Word and Excel Ability to travel to different sites and be on call
