As a significant member of the RWJBarnabas Health Revenue Cycle Team, the Vice President of HIM has corporate oversight of all Health Information Management (HIM) functions including but not limited to inpatient and outpatient coding, discharge not final billed (DNFB) management, release of information (ROI) and record storage, physician delinquency and suspension, and transcription management.
Responsible for planning and implementing Cerner HIM at all Cerner facilities (7)
Responsible for planning and implementing one EmScribe workflow for all AllScripts facilities (4)
Responsible for implementing one ROI vendor process for all Facilities and satellite outpatient facilities and physician practices
Responsible for planning and implementing a standard 3M coding solution for all inpatient facilities, eg: 3M 360 Eccompass
Responsible for planning and implementing centralized HIM process for all inpatient and outpatient hospital-based coding, for example, centralized ROI and centralized inpatient and outpatient coding
Bachelor s Degree required, Master s Degree preferred
At least 8-10 years in HIM management, preferably at a prior large multi-facility healthcare organization
MS Office proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Prior experience with Cerner HIM and ALLScripts HIM/OnBase preferred
Must be proactive and able to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet established deadlines
Must be able to work in a fast paced healthcare environment, work well under pressure and have the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Must possess organizational and planning skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal relationship skills
