The Network Engineer will provide daily operations support and maintenance for RWJBarnabas Health network and related information technology assets. This person in this position will ensure adequate coverage for the Hamilton facility and provide backfill assistance for current projects being done at Hamilton - i.e. Security Forescout project and the Aruba project. Also, this position will manage the wired and wireless network at Hamilton and the multiple remote locations Children s Specialized Hospital, Physician Enterprise and BHMG.
Perform system engineering, design and validation Participate in the application of network and related IT technology assets into the enterprise
Participate in the development and implementation of automated systems for BH Corporate and Affiliate entities
Install, configure, and maintain network and related technology infrastructure environments
Work with management to define the appropriate standards, policies, procedures and technologies to facilitate the management, accountability, functionality, and security of BH technology infrastructure assets and systems
Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IS policies, procedures and SLAs
Participate in the process of developing, testing and implementing interfaces
Participate in analysis required to define reporting requirements (e.g., Performance, Capacity, Change management)
Develop and maintain reports for Corporate and Affiliate entities as required
Proactively monitor system network and related infrastructure technology assets to provide stable, dependable technology asset services and provide ongoing trend analysis
Provide customer and peer training on network and related technology infrastructure toolsets, processes and procedures as required
Participate in projects, architecture and support (Technology Subject Matter Expert).
Bachelor s Degree preferred. Certification or equivalent may be substituted for a BA/BS degree
Minimum of three (3) years experience in Information Technology and Services
Experience in Health Care field helpful, but not required
Experience with OSPF preferred
Experience with site to site VPN preferred
