J OB SUMMARY:
T he Registered Nurse/RN in this role is r esponsible for accepting incoming referral information via multimedia and working directly with bed management and direct care nursing to coordinate inpatient bed assignments (particularly critically ill) for patients at Penn State Health, Hershey Medical Center. The RN also coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow using knowledge of clinical and operational activities throughout the hospital network.
The RN will need strong critical thinking, accurate assessment, and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in attention to detail. High-level analytical ability required in order to resolve complex patient flow issues.
I nterpersonal skills required. Knowledge in nursing concepts, practices, and procedures required.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
R e gistered Nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit
3 years Critical Care Nursing experience required
6 months of experience working as a RN
P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years Critical Care Nursing experience preferred.
