Fairview Pharmacy Services is looking for an entry-level Pharmacy Technician at the Specialty/Mail Order Pharmacy in Minneapolis, MN. This is a full-time day shift position in a fast-paced team environment. We offer extremely competitive pay and benefits and the opportunity for advancement through our progressive career ladder. As part of the Pharmacy Services Specialty/Mail Order department, you will complete our in-house Pharmacy Technician (Tech 240) training program. This six week paid on-the-job training course provides the skills, knowledge and experiences to meet the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy requirements for a Pharmacy Technician.
The Pharmacy Technician I provides telephone support to pharmacy patients, providers and pharmacies ensuring that patients are eligible for and receive prescribed medications in an accurate and timely manner via appropriate delivery methods. This consists of patient tracking, processing of patient claims, customer service, issue resolution and/or escalation.
Specific responsibilities include:
Complete intake process for mail order pharmacy patients including new patient enrollment, insurance verification, and medication refill and delivery schedule.
Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from patients, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.
Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.
One year customer service experience.
Ability to become registered as a Technician with Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program within first year of employment. (Provided by Fairview)
