Accountable for surveillance, prevention and control of infections in patients, staff, physicians, visitors and other internal and external customers.Assists in monitoring and reporting of fiscal and budgetary operations and provides support for the vision and direction of the division.Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with management, staff, physicians, patients, and other internal and external customers.Effectively manages change, facilitates innovation and fosters teambuilding.
Observes and evaluates techniques and practices related to health care associated disease prevention at all levels of health care
Performs surveillance activities and applies a basic epidemiologic approach to problem solving
Provides formal and informal education programs to health care providers
Provides patient education regarding disease transmission and prevention methods
Evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures
Serves as the Infection Prevention consultant for multiple departments
Required: Graduate of accredited school of nursing or other health related field.
Preferred: Bachelorï¿½s RN or Medical Microbiologist
Required: Current Arizona RN License, if applicable
Required: Current CIC
Required: 3 years in Infection Control.
Preferred: 5 years related experience in nursing, microbiology, utilization review, education
Required:Team building, systems thinking, complex problem solving, negotiating and influencing, change and conflict management, data analysis, coaching and mentoring; interpersonal communication.
Preferred: Data trending, statistical analysis.
Required: Regulatory and accreditation; microbiology, epidemiology, and infection diseases
Required: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft, technology of the specialty.
Preferred: Data mining experience
Required: Must be able to transport self to various sites as required.When using own vehicle must have valid Arizona driversï¿½ license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state of Arizona.
