The Syracuse, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting Registered Nurses (RNs)! We have opportunities available in our challenging Spinal Cord Injury/Rehabilitation bed unit. Patients on this unit may require Central/PICC IV lines, and bowel/bladder and wound care. Nursing experience encompasses quadriplegia, paraplegia, surgery, new injury rehabilitation, etc., to meet the needs of our complex patients. As a Staff Nurse you will provide emergent care to acute and chronically ill Veterans. Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborate with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes and provide a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems. We are looking for RNs who possess good organizational skills, demonstrated ability to assume leadership in a patient centered program, and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and interdisciplinary team members. Requires degree, RN license and U.S citizenship. At least one year of RN experience highly preferred; one year of rehab unit exp preferred, but not required. We offer the following benefits:
