Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of function, while learning to live with the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (RCNA, PTA, etc). The staff therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PIC activities. Ensures that patient clinical documentation and charges are accurate following hospital policy and procedures and practice act by laws. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training and preventative maintenance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
Qualifications:
Education
Required: Master�s Degree in Physical Therapy or Doctorate Physical Therapy, according to Florida Licensure requirements
Experience
Required: 2 years as a practicing PT in a healthcare setting
Certifications
Required: Florida Physical Therapist Licensure, American Heart Association BLS
