Overview Provide support to the pharmacy, under the direction of a pharmacist, in the central pharmacy and decentralized areas while assisting the pharmacist with compounding and distribution of pharmaceuticals, IV solutions and documentation as ordered by qualified prescribers. Provide assistance in the narcotic control area as directed. Prepare, label and deliver medications and supplies accurately and safely, as assigned and in accordance with all legal requirements and policies under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Process medication orders or prescriptions and maintain patient profiles accurately in the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy information systems.
Assist in medication preparation.
Prepare, order, process and recharge stock.
Complete work activities through effective management of time, tasks and available information.
Handle cash register transactions accurately and verify outpatient prescription insurance coverage.
Meet all role-related and age specific competencies. Comply with all initial and ongoing competencies within the entity and department. Preferred Education
