This position is responsible for completing the registration process within Patient Access and creating the first impression of Fairview's services to patients and families and other external customers. The Patient Access Services (PAS) Representative must be able to articulate information in a manner that patients, guarantors and family members understand and so they know what to expect and have an understanding of their financial responsibilities.

The PAS Representative will be responsible for completing the pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, benefits verification, co-pay collections - - as well as interviewing patients and guarantors to obtain: demographicinformation, insurance information, consents, and any other registration specific needs. The PAS representative will also work with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, insurancepayorsand other external sources.
Qualifications
Required
Education High school diploma or GED Experience 1 to 2 years customer service experience and basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications and Internet.
Preferred
Education Secondary education Experience Experience with automated patient account system One year admitting or hospital/clinic registration experience and/or health insurance experience
