The Manhattan and Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Medical Centers are recruiting for Microbiology & General Medical Technologists to care for our Nation’s Heroes! You will develop, perform, evaluate, interpret, correlate and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Testing is performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. Work is performed in a variety of laboratory disciplines, such as bacteriology, chemistry (including immunoassay and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, immunohematology (blood banking), and urinalysis.
Microbiology: Five full-time positions available in Manhattan, plus one part-time (2 shifts per week) position available: all shifts available. Includes weekends.
Core Lab: Two full-time positions available: one evening shift position is available in Manhattan and one night shift position is available in Brooklyn.
Shift differential for off tours! Assistance with payment of outstanding student loans!
Requires bachelor’s degree and national certification (MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MT(AMT). US citizenship required. One-year microbiology bench experience is highly preferred for micro positions. One year general experience is highly preferred for Core Lab positions.
