Fairview Health Services is looking for an evening Clinic Surgical Scheduler based out of the M Health Maple Grove Facility in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This is a full time, 80 hours every two weeks, benefit eligible position. The schedule will be Monday Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. This position requires you are able to work one Saturday a quarter and be on call one Saturday a quarter; the Saturday shift is 7:30 Noon.
Responsibilities/Job Description
The Clinic Surgical Scheduler is responsible for serving patients, providers, and staff in facilitating access to services, tests, procedures, etc. at the direction of the care provider. The Clinic Surgical Scheduler coordinates the flow and exchange of information related to patient activity and performs scheduling functions, and other clerical functions to meet the needs of scheduling.
Professionally answers and appropriately direct calls in a fast paced call center
Responsible for creating the first impression of Fairviews services to patients, families, and other external customers
Demonstrates ability to provide service while adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural difference of population served
Effectively work with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, and other external sources to ensure patients needs are met
Performs appropriate scheduling functions, via computer system, including entry of demographic, insurance, referring physician data, and exam information
Registers patients, schedules, obtains insurance information and verifies patient demographics
Maintain the accuracy of multiple physicians schedules in the clinical practice management system
Requests and receives medical records from appropriate sources, if applicable
Send comprehensive new patient packet information and brochures
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
One year customer service experience in health care OR administrative assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
Two years scheduling patient appointments and/or registering patient information with knowledge of insurance in a practice management system OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Skills
Working knowledge of electronic medical records and scheduling. Word processing and spreadsheet skills
