You Will Be Responsible For:

• Works with system leaders, Program Directors, Medical Directors, clinical leaders to formulate care quality goals and identify desired outcomes in accordance with AdventHealth Clinical’s agenda and standards of care.
• Identify and document current processes, to include existing ordersets or care pathways and clinical documentation by researching best practices in advance of each multidisciplinary consensus forum of subject matter experts.
• Understands current performance and key variances translating the analysis for the respective multidisciplinary consensus forum of subject matter experts.
• Facilitates development and supports the implementation of identified best practices for all related AH facilities
• Develops draft content, revises and maintains order sets in appropriate systems, seeking input from the multidisciplinary consensus forum of subject matter experts and the VP of Evidence Based Practice.
• Coordinates the preparation of materials, curation of evidence, order sets or pathways and clinical documentation in advance of each multidisciplinary consensus forum of subject matter experts as assigned.
• Assists clinical leadership in preparing clinical standards, pathways, educational materials, and recommendations to AdventHealth Clinical governing bodies.
• Identifies gaps in implementation of evidence-based medicine and provides hospital support as necessary
• Validates best practice documentation and order sets in the electronic medical record to assist all hospitals in meeting evidence-based practice standards and transformation of care deliverables.
• Serves as clinical point of contact for regulatory documentation requirements that require integration into the electronic medical record.
• In accordance with the maintenance review schedule for computerized provider order entry and other documentation standards, assesses the priorities of updates and ensure all maintenance reviews are completed with the supporting documentation e.g. Downtime forms.
• Provides continuous support and instruction for clinicians, coworkers, and others in use of appropriate software tools.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 8 years of progressive nursing experience in hospitals or post-acute/ambulatory services
• Minimum of two years providing IT support for an EMR which may include: experience evaluating and analyzing EMR features and functionality; developing training materials for users with various skill levels; documenting workflow design and identifying areas for improvement.
• Progressive clinical and administrative experience, especially development and implementation of specific clinical initiatives (i.e. project management)

Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:

• Active Registered Nurse License (without encumbrance)

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives in a matrixed organization to accomplish the goals and objectives for each initiative.
• Methodically analyzes and evaluates clinical scenarios defining the issues and proposing solutions utilizing a strong nursing process knowledge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement/change management techniques with the ability to lead the implementation of new models of care that will meet the anticipated objectives and goals. 
• Exercises sound judgment and clinical nursing critical thinking skills in the synthesis and prioritization of the work products. This includes the ability to discern when additional Executive or clinician leader support is needed.
• Works independently with minimal supervision on projects of moderate complexity identifying clinical order set EMR pathways that improve patient care, workflow, and successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrates a positive, confident attitude that contributes to the overall morale of team members and builds continuity/alignment across AdventHealth. • Strong computer skills in Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other related products including EMR systems

Job Summary:

The CPOE Nurse Analyst is responsible for facilitating the design and supporting the implementation of evidence-based medicine deliverables across all clinical areas and sites within AdventHealth. The nurse analyst works closely with subject matter experts including physician and nurse leaders and members of the multidisciplinary clinical consensus councils to identify unwarranted care variations within AdventHealth and facilitate the collaboration of design solutions that incorporate current evidence-based practices and regulatory guidelines or practice-based evidence arising through the local hospital level. The multidisciplinary clinical councils serve as the enduring consensus forums across AdventHealth and are the vehicle used to facilitate the planning, design and deployment of evidence-based medicine and transformation of care initiatives.

The CPOE Nurse Analyst serves as the integrator and facilitator for standardized clinical pathways, physician order sets, nurse protocols, clinical documentation as well as other clinical standards. AdventHealth order sets support care for all diseases, conditions based on the population of patients AdventHealth serves. The CPOE Nurse Analyst is responsible for ensuring clinical documentation standards for both physicians and nursing are embedded in the work products of these councils. The CPOE Nurse Analyst ensures order/documentation pathways are aligned/updated based on identified priority and maintained on a timely basis. The nurse analyst maintains documentation of evidence-based medicine key decisions, agendas, opportunity analysis, design documents as well as evidence-based practice literature. The CPOE Nurse Analyst works collaboratively engaging AH colleagues and physician leaders to influence and propel evidence-based medicine initiatives forward.
