Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external customers in person or on the telephone.
  • Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
  • Participates and ensures that rounding for outcomes occurs daily.
  • Promotes and validates AIDET compliance.
  • Maintains responsibility for Wound Healing Institute on 24/7 basis, unless otherwise approved.
  • Performs duties in a timely manner and provides updates if delays occur.
  • Works with the Wound Care Institute Director to facilitate and maintain lines of communication with the various ancillary departments utilized by the department. 
  • Responsible for working with Hyperbaric Technician and Center Director to Identify and assign a Registered Nurse, each day to support the Hyperbaric Technician, to meet patient identified needs during hyperbaric oxygen treatment. 
  • If hyperbaric technicians leave the hyperbaric room/environment, for any reason, they are responsible for obtaining coverage during their absence.  Both the requesting and covering employee is responsible for the observation and management of the hyperbaric environment and patient safety. 
  • Assesses the patient's condition and nursing needs; sets goals; establishes appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning. 
  • Directs, and evaluates nursing care provided to patients in the Wound Care Healing Institute. 
  • Helps coordinate nursing care of patient when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments. 
  • Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients such as cardiac arrest or other emergencies. 
  • Participates in the maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Collaborates with staff and peers to create optimal synergy and outcomes.
  • Completes behavioral-based interviewing for all new hires.
  • Participates in 30 60 and 90 day evaluations of new staff, and, completes meaningful annual evaluation of existing staff.
  • Meets regularly with staff to obtain feedback and provide guidance to improve outcomes.
  • Complies with FHT corrective action process.
  • Establishes and maintains communications and utilizes teaching opportunities with patients, and other significant individuals. 
  • Monitors and maintains acceptable compliance with budgets.  Will complete monthly variance report with appropriate action plans.
  • Assists in development of Operating and Capital Budgets.
  • Facilitates patient flow to and from the units.  Validation by decreased LWOT percentage, and acceptable transfer times and daily discharge times.
  • Participates in economical utilization in supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. 
  • Participates in quality improvement activities to improve processes and patient care.
  • Implements actions as appropriate based on benchmarks and data specific to the departments.
  • Continually monitors vacancy and turnover rates, to be submitted monthly.  Will implement strategies for staff retention.
  • Complete and submit departmental reports monthly.
  • Demonstrates accountability by taking responsibility for decisions, actions and results.
  • Maintains regulatory agency preparedness.
  • Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital. 
  • Identifies and establishes Performance Improvement Initiatives, as well as Chart Audits. Reports to Wound Institute Director and Medical Director results of audits including progress of healing or lack of and together develop a plan of action to help move patients along the continuum of healing. 
  • Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the hospital.
  • Participates in staff development by ensuring education, advancement of staff skills and certifications.
  • Serve as mentor and advisor to facilitate professional growth for our Wound Healing Institute employees.
  • Plans new projects or expansions, including equipment, staffing and space requirements.
  • Works under the direction of the Wound Institute Director and Medical Director to oversee, manage, train, and assist nurses and other staff within the department. 
  • Works with the Wound Institute Director to implement education programs for physicians and the staff regarding wound care. 
  • Provides the Wound Healing Institute Director with required reports of the departmental status as directed.
  • Contributes to the evaluation process of those employees that report to Clinical Manager.  Provides to the Wound Healing Institute Director documents updating employee files as appropriate e.g. BLS Cards
  • Participates in team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans as needed. 
  • Conducts departmental in-services for continuing education for the various staff of the department and hospital. 
  • Participates in orientation of new personnel.  

 

 

 

Qualifications
What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Managerial experience strong team building skills. 
  • Two years of experience in a Wound Treatment Center
  • Incumbents must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and can explain and demonstrate that she/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.  
  • Must have working knowledge of budgets and healthcare finance and leadership capabilities. 


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Outpatient hospital services. 
  • Ability to work closely with physicians and staff.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Authorization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • BLS or ACLS
  • BSN or ASN with commitment to enroll in a Bachelor's program within 6 months of employment.
  • Nursing field and/or related field.
  • Current Florida RN License.
  • Managerial experience strong team building skills.
  • Two years of experience in a Wound Care Treatment Center.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of outpatient hospital services. 
  • Ability to work closely with physicians and staff.
  • Knowledge of insurance authorization.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
  • Three years of experience in clinical specialty. Must have at least two years of experience in working in a leadership role in a Wound Treatment Center
  • BLS, Current Florida RN license

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Nursing Certification in clinical specialty preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, and Current Florida RN License

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Manager Coordinates the total Nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary departments and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.  Oversees staffing, training, and is a liaison with physicians, hospital personnel and departments.  Reports to Wound Institute Director.  Is responsible for establishing, Performance Improvement Initiatives, Chart reviews and audits. Coordinates the total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary departments and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
