Klickitat Valley Health is now seeking two MT / MLT's to come and work and play in the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge. One position offers three night shifts per week, and the second position offers four 10-hour day shifts- take your pick! The hospital district is currently transitioning to Meditech Expanse for EMR. The exceptional lab team consists of five techs, five CLA's, a working supervisor and a manager. The lab provides 24/7 support to the Emergency Department and Acute Care, and outpatients Monday-Saturday. The lab results approximately 5,000 tests per month.

Education / Licensure:
Degree in Medical Technology or related life science field.
Certification through ASCP, AMT, NCA or other certifying agency required.
Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist license required within 60 days of hire.
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
Minimum six (6) months’ Laboratory work experience preferred.
Able to perform venipuncture and capillary collections appropriate for the age of the patient in a professional manner and with minimum discomfort.
Able to perform standard laboratory analyses accurately according to published procedures and turnaround times.
Able to validate results which includes, but is not limited to, recognizing questionable results, investigation of the cause(s) of questionable results and finally to take appropriate action regarding release of test result to customer.
Demonstrates knowledge of medical technology sciences; patients’ rights; exposure control; universal precautions; infection control, etc.
Requires critical thinking skills, ability to make good decisions, listen and accept advice from others, demonstrate maturity and good judgment and the ability to work with regular supervision.
Promote/deliver exceptional customer service to both internal (patients and staff) and external customers (visitors and vendors).
