ChristianaCare is looking for an energetic and flexible Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant that has a passion to help take care of behavioral health patients in the outpatient setting at our Wilmington campus. This individual will support the Outpatient Behavioral health team through the provision of psychotherapy, psychoeducation and medication management for adult patients.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Performs thorough psychiatric assessments and determines accurate diagnoses.

Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide patient care for adult individuals with complex behavioral health conditions, including the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify diagnoses and to provide appropriate treatment

Collaborates with outside patient care team members, such as inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs, specialists, medical providers

Utilizes teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge base to provide education to patients and their families

Utilizes multiple modes of patient communication and visits such as office, phone, telehealth and in home visits

Timely documentation in an accurate and concise manner, using proper technology, as established in department and ChristianaCare guidelines

Works collaboratively with third party payors to insure that quality patient care is maintained and managed effectively and efficiently

Performs performance improvement activities for the practice and department, actively seeking to improve care delivery effectiveness and efficiency, outcome measures and patient satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in nursing or graduate from an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program

Delaware license or license eligible as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) or Board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred

Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with individuals with behavioral health conditions preferred

Prescriptive Authority, DEA registration, BLS Required
