Work Hours/Shift:

Full Time – Days

You Will Be Responsible For:

Answering phones and directing the calls to respectively

Scheduling Appointments efficiently and effectively

Entering accurate demographic and financial information and updating each visit

Verifying eligibility

Identifying and uploading insurance

Collecting and sorting faxes, scanning in documents

Making sure all needed documents and authorizations are completed and signed

Checking that reappointments have been scheduled by Clinical staff

Calling patients to remind them of the need to visit their provider

Embrace and embody the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of FMC

Responds professionally and effectively to questions from external sources (patients & health plan reps), & internal sources (providers & clinic staff)

Follows rules and regulations of Family Medicine Clinic as described in the FMC Employee Handbook and in the unit/department/clinic procedures

Follows policies and procedures in the FMC Rural Health Clinic Manual and Patient Care Policies

Performs all duties within timeframe established by Board of Directors

Has consistent and dependable attendance

Exhibits excellent customer service

Works smart with a sense of urgency

Is accessible and responsible to Patients, Providers, Owners, Directors, Team Leaders and Staff.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

High School Degree or 2-year college degree

2 years job experience preferably in a medical practice

Job Summary:

Referral Coordinator has Excellent Customer Service Skills, Promotes Positive Team Culture and Team Work. Ensures that Meaningful Use and other Practice Quality Measures are achieved.

Referral coordinators first priority is customer satisfaction, working as a team with the rest of the clinic staff.

Responsibilities for a referral coordinator set appointments and process transfers to ensure timely transmission and start of services. Primarily connected with the healthcare industry, referral coordinators serve as a liaison for patient resources. This position must be executed in compliance with insurance requirements, and the coordinator will often work closely with insurance companies.
