The nurse practices as a peri-operative RN in the Operating Room (OR) providing nursing care in a scrub and/or circulating nurse role. The Operating Room provides surgical services to all surgical specialties and their patients within the VA system including: Cardiac, Thoracic, Dental, Eye, GYN, Gen surgery, Neurosurgery, Ortho, OTO, Plastics, Podiatry, GU and Vascular. Transplants are not done at VA Puget Sound. Duties include but are not limited to: Duties include nursing care within the operating room environment preoperative nursing assessment intra-operative nursing care plan implementation and documentation of care given as well as documentation of patient disposition postoperatively. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; tour to be determined by clinic need and Nurse Manager; On Call status required Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year.
