The Patient Services Coordinator will work interdepartmentally to provide care coordination for Prosthetic and Oxygen patients. This position will be responsible for following up with patients upon discharge and assisting with continued care coordination. This position interacts closely with patients through phone communication and the Home Medical and Orthotics and Prosthetics departments. The PSC ensures an exceptional patient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, problem solving and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful, and empathetic manner.
This position will be remote with the expectation to assist with St. Paul Orthotics and Prosthetics clinic coverage.
Knowledge of applicable DME equipment and processes
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Produces efficient and accurate orders
Records and updates patient charts accurately, communicating changes to all involved staff
Seeks out solution to conflicts directly through parties involved and other available resources
Adds pertinent information and documents into the patient record in Brightree
Navigate through patient medical records using EPIC
Completes insurance verification
Answers and responds to telephones call
Takes and leaves concise messages for patients; responds as requested

Associate's degree or Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years in healthcare setting
Insurance and Billing experience
Previous DME experience
Medical terminology or Healthcare background
Knowledge of all current DME items carried and billing protocols
Ability to educate patients and answer questions regarding product information and use
Ability to align payer information and billing requirements to support patient needs
Ability to answer all questions regarding equipment and insurance coverage
Execute all claim processing for DME orders in an accurate and timely manner
Strong knowledge of insurance coverage and current insurance guidelines
Accurately bill all equipment for patients receiving their equipment, according to doctor orders and insurance guidelines
Strong working knowledge of billing systems/processes
Meet daily department productivity
Ability to follow detailed instructions according to insurance regulations and guidelines
Ability to form and keep good relationships with hospital staff ordering products
