You Will Be Responsible For:
Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee relations, medical staff, departmental and administrative information.
Supports departmental and organizational Mission through appropriate use of resources, providing assistance to team members and management, accepting work or scheduled assignments and acts as a role model to the team to provide suggestions and creative ideas for performance improvement.
Communicates with manager regarding work priorities and provides feedback regarding requests, projects and assignments as appropriate.
Is aware of daily production goals and works to meet these goals without becoming distracted or being a distraction to other team members.
Communicates any information relative to the order within the comments and ship text to be viewed by QA, Pharmacist, Bookkeeping, Filling and Shipping staff.
Maintains an awareness of pop-ups and reads and follows through with all necessary actions to ensure order is correct.
Leaves adequate and understandable notes in the member’s profile for any issue that needs to be communicated other staff members.
Acts as the first check for new prescription orders, verifying the correct patient, drug, directions, quantity, refills, physician, DEA number and all other prescription information is correct.
Works in a timely manner to ensure that the QA queue is flowing throughout the day and orders are being sent to the Pharmacist for review in a timely manner.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and clearly when failing any technician orders to ensure that all mistakes are corrected promptly.
Ability and willingness to help the processing team with productivity as work flow allows.
Understands entire pharmacy processes and the roles of other team members to assure the customer’s needs are met.
Always works within mandated registered pharmacy technician scope of practice guidelines.
What You Will Need:
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 year of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail or mail-order setting
A current Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, RPT; or to be obtained within first year of employment as a technician. Must complete state required continuing education requirement for registration
5 years of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail or mail-order setting, preferred
The Pharmacy QA Technician performs a wide range of supportive duties to assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication so that patients receive consistent care. In addition, this position also assists the Pharmacist in quality check of typed prescriptions, maintaining inventory and patient records. Works only under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist and does not perform duties that can only be legally performed by a registered Pharmacist.
