The Lebanon VAMC is currently recruiting for one full-time Physician Assistant to work in collaboration with available guidance and supervision of an Attending Physician in the field of Cardiology. The primary practice site for Cardiology is in the Cardiology Clinic in Building 17 located on the main campus of the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for Cardiology duties which are generally defined as but not limited to: Outpatient management support to include office visits and management of his/her own continuing caseload, as well as support of attendings' patients as needed Performs comprehensive history and physical examinations and initiates treatment when indicated for acute and chronic medical conditions Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests as appropriate Diagnosis medical conditions predominantly associated with the field of Cardiology and Cardiovascular disease Assists in various testing procedures in the Cardiology clinic including transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear stress testing, exercise stress testing, and stress echocardiography within their scope of practice Reviews and updates reconciliation of medications Future endeavors could also include addition education of primary care providers and further expansion of telemedicine to other sites In collaboration with a supervising physician, the PA is also authorized to write orders on outpatients acquiring their care the Lebanon VA Medical Center. This may also include inpatient consultations on patients admitted to either the medical or surgical services in the acute care hospital at the Lebanon VA Medical Center Ensures practice is consistent with VA policies and procedures, clinical emergency guidelines, HIPPA policies Uses prescriptive authority granted by licensure Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
