Come join our dedicated and caring team of professionals as a HIV Benefits Specialist. With guidance and direction from our Common Ground program Case Management Supervisor, the HIV Benefits Specialist will perform a full range of engagement services to people living with HIV including benefits screening, enrollment, management and troubleshooting. In this position you will also:
Provide exceptional trauma informed customer service to all internal and external customers and practice de-escalation techniques to reduce the risk of harm to patients and staff.
Provide non-medical case management support to the benefits clients; encouraging them to participate in Common Ground community activities.
Maintain supportive professional relationships with patients to support medical recommendations for viral load suppression.
Document interactions in the electronic medical record and record data in the County database, as well as run a monthly report for the County.
Participate in programmatic meetings including quality management and the team huddles.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Salary range: $30.53 - $40.30 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
CA ADAP Enrollment Certification
Bachelor's degree in social work OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, community resources, health education methods, advocacy, harm reduction and general clinical knowledge.
Skill in managing multiple deadlines/demands, and ability to follow through on assignments.
Ability to complete required program documentation, and skill in creating flyers and other program-promoting documents.
Ability to create and maintain boundaries with clients, and effectively interact with people and develop positive relationships while being tactful, respectful, and direct in communication.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and public speaking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a group; skill in maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Ability to discuss sensitive matters in a non-judgmental manner and to respect confidentiality.
